Route 28 Rock Removal Begins Monday in Harmar Township

Pittsburgh, PA

PennDOT District 11 is announcing rock removal work on southbound Route 28 (Allegheny Valley Expressway) in Harmar Township, Allegheny County, will begin on Monday, July 7 weather permitting.

A single lane closure will occur on southbound Route 28 near the Route 910 on-ramp. Work will occur weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, July 18. Crews from Michael Facchiano Contracting, Inc. will remove rock, scale the hillside and remove debris.

All ramps will remain open. However, motorists will transition to the southbound Route 28 fast lane from the Route 910 on-ramp.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
