Route 50 Washington Avenue Streetscape Improvements Phase II Begins Tuesday Night in Bridgeville

Pittsburgh, PA

PennDOT District 11, in cooperation with Bridgeville Borough, is announcing the next phase of work to improve sidewalks and aesthetics on Route 50 (Washington Avenue) will begin on Tuesday night, June 19 weather permitting.

On Tuesday night, crews will be removing paint lines and installing temporary markings in preparation for Phase II of the project. To allow the work to occur, Route 50 will be closed in both directions between Bower Hill Road and Hickman Street from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday. Bridgeville police will assist with traffic movements. Signs will be posted to guide motorists using local roads to bypass the closed area of Route 50.

From west
• Make left onto Hickman Street
• Right onto Chess Street
• Right onto Station Street
• Left onto to Shady Avenue
• Right onto Murray Avenue
• End detour at Route 50
From east
• Same detour in opposite direction

Motorists should use caution, allow extra time and expect changing patterns when traveling through the area.

The $308,000 project includes removing and replacing sidewalks and street trees along with electrical upgrades from Hickman Street to Bower Hill Road.
