Route 926 to be Restricted in Pocopson Township for Bridge Repair

KING OF PRUSSIA
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that Route 926 will be restricted between Creek Road and Pocopson Road in Pocopson Township, Chester County beginning Monday (Feb. 6) for the repair of the structurally-deficient bridge over the Brandywine Creek. The bridge will be restricted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday (Feb. 10).

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel on Route 926 as delays will occur when traffic is restricted to a single lane.

Crews will repair and resurface the bridge deck on the 75-year-old bridge. The four-span bridge is 190 feet long and 26 feet wide. The steel I-beam structure carries 14,474 vehicles a day.

The bridge improvement project is part of PennDOT’s $2,485,492 project to improve nine structurally deficient bridges in the Philadelphia region. James J. Anderson Construction Company Inc., is the general contractor on the project that is financed with 100 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed by June 2012.
