Project Description :
This project is for the surface improvements of various state roads across Indiana county. Surface improvements include activities such as pavement patching, drainage work, and superpaving overlays. Work sites for this project include: SR 0056 (avg daily traffic of 6216) in Center and Brush Valley Townships (6.58 miles), SR 0210 (avg daily traffic of 1882) in South Mahoning, East Mahoning, and North Mahoning Townships (8.36 miles), SR 0286 (avg daily traffic of 1712) in Montgomery and Banks Townships (4.5 miles), SR 0954 (avg daily traffic of 5070) in Center, White, and Brush Valley Townships (5.84 miles), SR 2011/Mulligan Hill Rd (avg daily traffic of 1875) in West Wheatfield Township (0.05 miles), SR 2018/Luciusboro Rd (avg daily traffic of 165) in Brush Valley Township (0.05 miles), SR 4002/Creekside Rd (avg daily traffic of 568) in Armstrong and Washington Townships (3.28 miles), SR 8001/Ramp J Rd (avg daily traffic of 6170) in White Township (1.04 miles), and T-700 (Old SR 22) Stock Pile #4 in West Wheatfield Twp.

Work to be performed may include: pavement patching, drainage repairs and upgrades, superpavement of overlays, placement of bituminous overlays, shoulder work. Actual work at each specific site will vary based upon the severity of the road condition.

Generally flagging operations are used to restrict traffic to one lane through the work zone. In some cases, posted detours may be used to provide alternate routes around the construction project due to the extent of the work. The length of time to complete work at each site is generally 1-3 weeks, with some sites taking longer depending on the type of work being completed. The contractor will provide traffic control signing to warn motorists of the upcoming work zone. All work is expected to be completed by 09/30/2011.

Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to turn on headlights, slow down, and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
