Project Description :
| This project is for intersection improvements at the SR 4032 (Philadelphia Street) / SR 4003 (College Lodge Road) intersection located in Indiana Borough and White Township in Indiana County. Intersection improvements will include: turning lanes, relocation of College Lodge Road intersection with Philadelphia Street, curbing, sidewalk and drainage updates and other miscellaneous construction. Work will occur in three phases. Phase 1 will involve the widening of Philadelphia Street and construction of the new College Lodge Road entrance across from T-850 (Acorn St.) On Philadelphia Street, traffic will be shifted to the right side of Philadelphia Street utilizing the existing shoulder area so that 10’ lanes will be maintained in each direction. College Lodge Road will be closed with traffic being detoured onto T-408 (Water Street) , to 15th ST, to SR 4032 (Philadelphia Street). In Phase 2, traffic will be shifted to the left side of Philadelphia Street. College Lodge Road will be open to traffic. Construction will occur on T-850 (Acorn Street) using short term flagging. At the end of the work day, Acorn Street will be open to two lanes of traffic. In Phase 3, Philadelphia Street will continue to be widened on each side using daytime flaggers. Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to turn on headlights, slow down, and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed. |
