Project Description :
This project is for the replacement of the existing concrete arch bridge which carries traffic from PA-173 (Centreville Pike) over Slippery Rock Creek in the village of Doughtery's Mills (Slippery Rock Twp) with a two-lane single-span Steel-Girder Bridge. The existing bridge, located approximately 2 miles south of Slippery Rock University, was built in 1929 as an two-lane 140'-long concrete/arch roadway bridge and sees an average daily traffic of approximately 6370 vehicles and also has a pedestrian walkway on one side.

Drivers and pedestrians should expect bridge closures and a detour route will be in place. For more information on the detour route, please see the Schedule and Restrictions and Detour Map links to the left for current project information. Construction is expected to be completed by 08/17/2011.

Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to turn on headlights, slow down, and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
