Project Description :
| This is an ECONOMIC RECOVERY PROJECT located at the SR 28 (Allegheny Valley Expressway) and SR 422 (Benjamin Franklin Highway) interchange in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County. Bridge rehabilitation will occur on the two bridges which carry SR 422 over SR 28 (Allegheny Valley Expressway). The bridges were built in 1970. Bridge rehabilitation is to include deck replacement, structural rehabilitation, and other miscellaneous construction. Additional, construction with lane shifts will take place on the SR 422 westbound off-ramp connecting to SR 268 and the SR 28 north entrance ramp onto SR 422 westbound. Traffic on state route 422 eastbound will be reduced from two lanes to one lane through the work zone. Traffic on state route 422 westbound will be reduced from two lanes to one lane through the work zone. Vehicle width restrictions will be in place during construction. See the Schedule and Restrictions link for current project information. The anticipated completion date is 08/31/2010. Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to turn on headlights, slow down, and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed. |
