Information Systems Governance

Information Systems Governance (ISG) is located within the Office of Information Services (OIS) under the Administration deputate. The ISG is responsible for enterprise information technology project and procurement planning, IT business analysis, and IT policy development.

IT project and procurement planning-
ISG uses the Department's IT Program and Project Implementation Process for the review and approval of proposed IT projects. This process requires prioritized IT business needs form each deputate and then IT project requests are evaluated through a review process resulting in a prioritized enterprise IT portfolio.

Business Analysis-
Before an IT solution can be determined, a business analysis must be conducted to map the business process and define the current state, requirements, and review alternatives.

The Strategic Planning-
ISG coordinates the IT planning efforts of OIST as well as the Department's IT Strategic Plan. ISG is available to assist Deputates/Districts/Bureaus with the development/updating for their IT strategic plans.

IT Policy Development and Maintenance-
ISG manages the Departments IT policy Development process for the creation of new IT polices and well as revising IT policy. ISG also coordinates the review of OIT's draft ITB's to ensure the PennDOT has the opportunity to respond draft IT policy at the Commonwealth level.
