  1. How do I request a free Official Transportation Map?
    The free map can be easily obtained by clicking on this free Official Transportation Map Link and filling out the form.

  2. How do I order other maps?
    Please click on this order other maps link. It will take you to the map sales page.

  3. How do I view a PDF file? How do I read a PDF file?
    First you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4.0 or higher. If you do not have this you may download it from this Adobe Acrobat Reader web site link. Once this software is installed, just click on the desired PDF file link and the PDF will be automatically downloaded and opened in Acrobat Reader when the downloading is complete.

  4. What do the RED numbers on the Traffic Volume Map mean?
    The RED number is the State Route number. You may also obtain more information on the legend located on the map.

  5. How do I print a portion/section of a PDF map?

  6. How do I print a PDF to a plotter/printer?

  7. Where can I download a map?
    You may download maps from our Cartography section. Please click on this Maps Link to choose a map, then follow the directions on the screen. All PDF maps can be saved to your machine once they are opened in Adobe Acrobat reader. When the file is opened in Acrobat Reader choose File, Save As and save it to a directory on your machine.

  8. How would I locate traffic counts for a specific location in Pennsylvania?
    Please click on this Traffic Volume Map Page Link and choose the appropriate county. You may then view the map and zoom in on the specific location.

  9. What do I do if I have difficulty downloading a map?
    All our maps are on a FTP server. Depending on traffic and server availability these files can take time to download. Often the left hand bottom corner will say the map is done, however if you move your mouse over the Internet Explorer or Netscape Title Bar your mouse pointer/arrow will have an hour glass with it. This means the file is still downloading. If you have difficulty please email our BPR WebMaster by clicking on this Webmaster Link.


  10. What do I do if I get "Page Unavailable" or I do not see updates that were made on the website?
    You may be looking at a cached version of the page. Your Internet Explorer options may not be set correctly that is why you are looking at a cached version. To correct this please click on this Check Internet Options Link for a document that will show you how to check your Internet options.
