New Products Evaluation and Research - Who We Are


The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation maintains a continuing interest in the implementation of new materials, products, and processes for highway construction and maintenance. Products submitted by vendors are evaluated to validate the expected performance and cost effectiveness of these new technologies.

As part of the Bureau of Construction and Materials, the Engineering Technology and Information Division works with the new materials, products and processes that the Department has an interest in for improving Pennsylvania Highways. The ETI Division receives applications from vendors who feel they have a product that the Department would be able to use for highway construction and maintenance.

As a means of keeping track of these products, the New Products Evaluation & Tracking System (NPETS) has been designed to follow the progress of the new products submitted by the vendors. From this database, you will be able to access and view the current product evaluations and those product evaluations that have been closed. Accessing this information is based on knowing the Manufacturer or Fabricator, the Trade Name or Model Number or choosing a Product Category.
