When the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) first highway beautification program was introduced more than 20 years ago, we were looking for volunteers to partner with and help us Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful--our program name. |

Each year, nearly a quarter of a million volunteers dedicate their time to keep Pennsylvania beautiful and litter-free while saving PennDOT over $25 million each year in clean-up costs. With volunteer help, we can continue this commitment as the nation's largest and most successful highway beautification program and leave our children a cleaner, healthier, more scenic Pennsylvania. |

PennDOT offers a wide variety of beautification programs - everything from litter pickup to recycling for profit to planting patches of wildflowers perfect for welcoming visitors to our Commonwealth and to your community. |
