 | The Utility Relocation activities are coordinated by the Central Office Utility Relocation Unit of the Bureau of Project Delivery's Right-of-Way and Utilities Section. The Unit is supervised by the chief Utility Relocation Administrator, who has overall responsibility for all utility relocations.
Utility Relocation Administrators are responsible for the coordination and application of the policies and procedures outlined and prescribed by the Department's Design Manual, Part 5, Utility Relocation. The Administrators provide the districts under their responsibility with technical assistance and operational guidance.
The Central Office Staff is also responsible for developing policies and procedures to accomplish utility relocations and adjustments necessary to accommodate highway construction projects.
The District Utility Relocation Administrators and their staff are responsible for the clearance of utility facilities on all construction projects in the district and the implementation of the department's policies and procedures. Utility facilities include all gas, water, sanitary sewers, electric, cable TV, communications, and petroleum products pipelines.
To assure quality performance in our day to day operations at all levels, the Utility Relocation Unit has implemented a quality Assurance Program.
