The Utilities and Right of Way Section (URWS) is responsible to develop and ensure compliance with policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws and regulations for the acquisition of right-of-way, relocation of utilities and alterations to railroad facilities as required by highway and bridge projects. This Section also oversees the Department's property management activities and the Outdoor Advertising Sign Control and Junkyard Control. The Section is comprised of three groups, which are the Right-of-Way Unit, the Grade Crossing Unit and the Utility Relocation Unit. The Right-of-Way Unit is composed of the Acquisition Group, the Administration Group and the Appraisal Group. |
