Roadway Inventory and Testing Section

The Roadway Inventory & Testing Section (RITS) is a sub division of the Asset Management Division , Bureau of Maintenance & Operations. RITS is responsible for specialized pavement testing and analysis, roadway condition data collection, and the Location Reference System (LRS). RITS is also responsible for administration, foundation data, and database maintenance of the Roadway Management System (RMS).

RITS annually provides District, County, and Central Office personnel with data concerning roadway condition, surface skid friction, roughness (ride quality), structural characteristics, roadway length and geometric information, and feature locations on the State Route (SR) system.
