PennDOT D4 TMC

Physical location and operational systems at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District 4-0 Headquarters in Dunmore, PA.  As of 2005, this element consists of a cubicle that houses all of the existing ITS operations and monitoring systems, as well as terminals from a private weather service and from the I-95 IEN.  In the future, the TMC will be upgraded to a dedicated facility with specialized HVAC, power, and communications, providing an upgraded operations and monitoring location.  This will also include implementation of a system integration platform and other systems improvements in communications, monitoring, and data archiving/data management, and enhanced hours of operation.  This upgrade TMC is expected to operate as a Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC), as classified within the latest PennDOT Statewide ITS Operational Concept, which will include extended hours of operation.
